It’s been a while since I visited one of my favorite local wildlife areas. Murfree Springs is a natural wetland that our city has added boardwalks and a few sidewalks where visitors can walk through and hopefully see some wildlife in their natural habitats. This post will cover some of the birds I was able to photograph on my visit yesterday and today.
I attended a Birds of Prey – Birds in Flight workshop sponsored by Dury’s our local camera store and presented by Roman Kurywczak. I learned a lot but the main things are: Birds in flight are HARD to photograph!! …and I need a longer lens!!!…and I need a LOT of practice!
There were 3 different birds being used for the exercises, a juvenile Red-tailed Hawk, an Aplomado Falcon, and a Harris Hawk. The birds were provided and handled by Jeff Fincher.
Enjoy the magnificence of these birds!
I have such hopes for this year, one of which is to take my photography to new levels. I want to take a minute to thank all of you who have followed and liked and enjoyed my posts and hope you’ll stick around. If you find me through Facebook, I hope you will link and follow me here on my blog directly. I also welcome any comments or advice for my blog and/or my photos.
For now, here we go….the first photos of 2015 just shot out my back door! (but oh what activity goes on out there)!!
